Is storing cards on file secure?

Absolutely. Card details are tokenised and stored by Stripe, the world’s most trusted payment processor. Petboost never stores raw card data on its servers. Stripe maintains PCI DSS Level 1 compliance, the highest level of security certification.

What happens if a card is declined?

If a charge fails, Petboost automatically sends the customer a payment link so they can pay with a different card. You can also trigger payment recovery to retry or request an alternative payment method.

Do I have to charge manually or can it be automatic?

Both. You can charge any card on file with a single tap, or enable Auto-Pay to charge automatically after service completion. Many businesses use the full automation lifecycle so they never touch payments at all.
