We have heard the same thing from dozens of businesses over the past six months: "I love Petboost, but I already have a Square terminal and I do not want to pay extra every time a customer pays cash or taps their card on my own machine."
Fair enough.
Today we are launching Business Flex, a new plan tier designed specifically for businesses that have their own payment terminal and want to keep using it alongside Petboost.
What Business Flex is
Business Flex sits between Business Pro and Business Max. It includes every feature that Pro and Max include. Online bookings, automations, packages, courses, paperwork, policies, reporting, Grazi AI. Nothing is locked away.
The difference is in the pricing model:
- $0 fees on non-card payments. When a customer pays cash, by bank transfer, or taps on your own Square, Tyro, or bank EFTPOS terminal, Petboost charges nothing. Pro charges a per-appointment fee on these payment methods.
- Higher limits. More appointments and SMS per month than Pro, with the same per-appointment overage rate if you go over.
- Same booking fee rate as Pro. The percentage-based booking fee on Stripe card payments is identical to Pro.
- Subscription waiver at a higher threshold. Process enough card payments through Stripe and your monthly subscription is automatically waived, just like Pro and Max. Flex has a higher waiver threshold than Pro.
Who Business Flex is for
Flex is built for a specific type of business:
You have your own payment terminal and most of your customers pay in person. You might use Square, Tyro, a bank-supplied EFTPOS machine, or a combination. You want Petboost for scheduling, CRM, automations, and online booking, but you do not want to pay a per-appointment fee every time someone pays on your own terminal.
You are growing past Pro's limits and need more monthly appointment and SMS capacity, but you are not yet at the volume where Max makes sense.
You want the flexibility to accept any payment method without thinking about which ones cost you extra. Cash, bank transfer, card on your own terminal, Card on File through Petboost. All handled, all clean.

Getting started
If you are already on Business Pro or Calendar Lite, you can upgrade to Business Flex from Settings, Billing in your Petboost account. The change takes effect immediately and your billing is prorated.
If you are new to Petboost, you can select Business Flex when you create your account.

Why we built this
When we launched Business Pro, the non-card payment fee made sense as a simple way to keep the base subscription low. But as more businesses joined Petboost with existing terminal infrastructure, we heard consistently that this fee was the one friction point.
Business Flex removes that friction. You keep your terminal, you keep your workflow, and Petboost handles everything else without charging you extra for payments that do not touch our platform.
We want every pet business to find a plan that fits their setup, not the other way around.
