Your team takes photos during every appointment. At the beach, in the grooming salon, mid-training session, during boarding playtime. Those photos end up in report cards, which pet owners love. But until now, there was no single place where a pet owner could see all their photos across all appointments.
That changes today.
Photo Gallery: Every Photo, One Beautiful Place
The pet owner portal now has a dedicated Photos page. Every photo from every appointment, across every pet, collected in one gorgeous gallery.
Here is what pet owners get:
- All photos from all appointments displayed in a clean grid, organised by date
- Filter by pet using the pet selector at the top, so multi-pet households can browse photos for just Bella, just Max, or everyone
- Filter by date range to find photos from a specific period
- Multiple grid sizes so pet owners can see more photos at once or zoom in for detail
- Favourite photos by tapping the heart icon, creating a curated collection of their best moments
- Expand any photo into a full-screen lightbox with swipe navigation
The gallery groups photos by appointment date, showing the service name, business name, and how many photos were taken. Pet owners can expand or collapse each group.
It is simple. It is beautiful. And it means photos your team takes during a 7am walk are not lost in a text thread or buried inside a single report card. They live permanently in the pet owner's gallery, ready to be revisited any time.
Map View: See Where Every Moment Happened
Here is where it gets really special. Switch to Map View and every photo is pinned on an interactive map at the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken.
For dog walking businesses, this is magic. A pet owner can see that last Tuesday, their dog was photographed at Centennial Park, then at Bronte Beach, then back at the park. The photos are not just thumbnails on a map; they are the actual photo, displayed as a rounded marker at the location where the moment happened.
Click a marker and a popup shows the pet's name, the service type, the date, the team member, and all photos from that location. If multiple photos were taken near the same spot, they cluster together with a count badge.
This uses the same location data your team already captures during check-in, checkout, and photo uploads. No extra work required. If your walkers are taking photos during walks (which they should be), those photos automatically appear on the map.
How It Works With Report Cards
The photo gallery and map view complement report cards. They do not replace them.
Report cards are appointment-specific. After a walk, the pet owner sees Suzie's notes, the photos from that walk, and the service details. It is a snapshot of that single appointment.
The photo gallery is the long view. It is every photo from every appointment, ever. A pet owner can scroll through months of walks, daycare sessions, grooming appointments, and boarding stays, all in one place.
The map view adds spatial context. Where did these moments happen? Which parks does the walker visit most? Where was the beach day? The map answers questions that a chronological gallery cannot.
Together, they create a complete picture: the appointment-level detail of report cards, the chronological archive of the gallery, and the geographic story of the map.
Why This Matters for Your Business
This is not just a nice-to-have. Photo galleries and map views drive real business outcomes:
Reduced "how was my dog?" anxiety. Pet owners who can see a growing archive of happy photos are less anxious between appointments. They trust the experience because they can see the evidence.
Organic marketing. Pet owners screenshot and share beautiful photos of their pets. A gallery full of professionally-presented photos is shareable content you did not have to create.
Higher retention. The more photos accumulate in a pet owner's gallery, the higher the switching cost. Six months of walk photos pinned across a map of their neighbourhood is an emotional archive they will not want to leave behind.
Differentiation. Most pet business software sends a text with a photo. Maybe an email. Petboost gives pet owners a permanent, beautiful, interactive photo experience. That is a meaningful difference when a pet owner is choosing between your business and the one down the road.
Available Now
The photo gallery and map view are live in the pet owner portal today. No setup required. If your team is already taking photos during appointments (via the Petboost mobile app), those photos will automatically appear in the pet owner's gallery and on the map.
If your team is not taking photos yet, now is a great time to start. The gallery makes every photo count.
