The rules behind every figure Petboost publishes about bookings on Petboost, and what each one is counted out of.
Counted over 14 July to 11 October 2026.
Every figure is counted over the 90 days from 14 July to 11 October 2026. A booking counts when it was made in that window. A visit counts when it was scheduled to start in that window.
Businesses on Petboost with at least 50 bookings made in the window. Test and demonstration accounts are left out.
A business is placed in the vertical that most of its bookings in the window belong to. A business that runs several services is counted once, in that vertical.
Visit figures count visits that went ahead or no-showed. Cancelled and declined visits are left out, except when a deposit or cancellation fee was kept on them.
Each figure below is published with its sample: how many businesses, and how many bookings, visits, clients or cards it was counted out of.
A booking carries an add-on when at least one add-on line is on it. Counted out of bookings that include a grooming service and that the customer made online with no staff involvement.
Average price of one add-on line across bookings that were not cancelled or declined.
A client has rebooked when they hold a future booking, or an active repeating booking, at the business on the day of measurement. Counted out of clients with a completed visit in the window.
A no-show is a visit the business marked as a no-show. Counted out of visits that went ahead or no-showed with a deposit paid.
A no-show is a visit the business marked as a no-show. Counted out of visits that went ahead or no-showed with no deposit paid.
Protected revenue is a deposit or cancellation fee kept on a visit that was cancelled or no-showed. The total kept is divided by every visit that went ahead or no-showed, then multiplied by 100.
Protected revenue is a deposit or cancellation fee kept on a visit that was cancelled or no-showed. Counted only at businesses that kept at least one deposit or fee in the window.
Average total of completed visits. A visit is completed when it is paid or ready to pay.
Average gap between one completed visit and the same client's next completed visit.
A report card counts as opened when the customer opened the link at least once. Counted out of report cards sent by SMS for visits in the window.
A figure is published only when it is counted across at least 3 businesses and the sample is stated. No single business is ever shown as a number.
Every figure is rounded down. A percentage under 10 keeps one decimal place, other percentages and dollar figures are whole numbers, and weeks keep one decimal place.
Where there is no data, the figure shows a dash, never a zero. A figure below the business floor also shows a dash. A zero means the count was made and came to zero.
These are Petboost's own figures about Petboost's own product. They are counted from booking records in Petboost and are not audited.
Every figure counted under these rules, by vertical, is on the pet business benchmarks page.
