An owner drops their dog off for a swim and spends the morning wondering how it went. A photo helps. Twenty seconds of the dog actually swimming is a different thing.
That is the big one this month, and it's open to every business on Pro, Flex, Max and Enterprise. The rest is smaller and closer to the desk: prices that wait, a closed day that takes one tap, and a recurring series you can read before it books.
A quick word on bias before the list. This is our own product and we sell it, so read it knowing that. Everything below is live in Petboost now.
1. Video Booster, for every business
Add a clip to the appointment and it's on the report card when the owner opens it, already playing, silently, on a loop. A tap opens it full screen with sound. Owners pay nothing to watch.
Each service can carry a video on your booking page, and each course lesson can carry one too, so a nervous first-timer can see the pool or the yard before they book. Everything draws from one pool of video, and deleting a video gives its minutes back.
Video Booster is a monthly power-up on Business Pro, Flex, Max and Enterprise. Add it from Billing, under Plan & Power-Ups. Video Booster.
2. Hide prices until review
Some businesses quote after they've seen the dog. Others would rather sell the service first. Turn on Hide prices until review under Price visibility in Pricing & Payments and customers choose without prices, on your booking page and in the booking form. The review step then shows the full price, fees and deposit before they book.
To hide one service only, use Hide this service's price until review on that service's Pricing & Payments tab. To go a step further, Require an account before showing services in Booking Settings keeps your services, packages, courses and memberships behind sign-in. Hide prices on Self-Service Booking.
3. Close for a day
Closing for a family event, a stocktake or a long weekend used to mean leave for each person and a block for each room. Now select Close for a day on Public Holidays, pick one date or a range of up to a month, and Petboost marks you closed on your showcase page, adds leave for every team member and blocks every resource.
Bookings already on those days are listed, so you can open each one and decide what to do with it. Days you've closed sit under Days you are closed, each with Reopen. Close for a day on Scheduling.
4. Fill order
Open Fill order from the menu on Resources or Team Members and drag them into the order you want them used. Magic Match follows it for a stay or a staff booking that doesn't name one, so your first-choice room fills first.
On Resources there's an Overflow, staff only line. Anything below it shows as full online, and your team can still book into it. A spare room stays spare until you decide otherwise. Fill order on Team.
5. Assessment results
A dog who came to an assessment and didn't settle has still completed the appointment, so a completed visit alone can't tell you what they're ready for. Under Assessment result on Notes & Attachments, select Passed or Not yet for each pet.
Passed unlocks every service that lists the assessment. Not yet keeps them locked. The result shows on the report card in words you can change, and saving it sends no message. Assessment results on Initial services.
6. Check a recurring series, visit by visit
Select Check Recurring Availability and Petboost lists every visit and marks the ones that clash before it books anything. The fix button moves the clashes to free times, See day opens a clash in the real calendar, and Let visits move by up to sets how far either side a visit may go.
Nothing is booked or sent to the customer until you select Create Recurring Series. Recurring appointments.
7. Date rates on existing bookings, and long stays on peak dates
Bookings keep the price they were booked at when you change a date rate. In the Holiday & weekend rates card, Re-price these applies your current rates to those bookings when you want it.
For stays, Charge the standard rate on public holidays and peak dates sits under Extended Stay Discounts on the service. The stay still reaches its discount tier, while the nights on a peak date are charged at the standard rate with the holiday or peak rate on top. Dynamic Pricing.
8. And the smaller things
- Swap groups between walks. On a Collect & Return run, one walk's drop-offs and the next walk's pick-ups plan as one drive between the two parks. Trips
- Preview as Pet Owner. From the Manage menu on an appointment, see your client's own booking page, read-only. Pet owner experience
- Switch on services for online booking. Booking Settings tells you how many services pet owners can't book yet, and you can switch them on together. Self-Service Booking
- Run sheet History. Print each pet's earlier notes on its booking card. Mission Control
- Deposit and part payment receipts. An emailed receipt each time a client pays part of a booking. It starts off. Deposits
- Magic enhance on voicemail. Playback tuned to that recording, so a message from a windy car park is easier to hear. Call Catcher
- Past periods on memberships. What each period used and what went unused, on the customer's Wallet tab. Memberships
If you want to see any of this on your own account, the release notes has every change as it lands.
