A short-coated working breed that needs only minimal brushing, about weekly, and sheds moderately. The AKC standard calls the breed playful yet patient with children, though Purina Australia notes its energy can overwhelm very young kids. The Royal Kennel Club lists more than two hours of exercise a day.
