Dogs NSW describes the Pyrenean Mountain Dog as confident, gentle with children and affectionate, but slow to learn and somewhat stubborn to train. The coat needs brushing once or twice a month as a house pet, and the Royal Kennel Club lists more than once a week. It needs a large house and a large garden.
