It is a fair question. Software pricing pages are often designed to look simple, but the total cost depends on how you use the product. Your appointment volume, how many customers pay by card, and how many SMS reminders you send all affect the final number.
So we built a calculator that does the maths for you.
What the Pricing Calculator does
The Pricing Calculator is a free, interactive tool on the Petboost website. Enter your business details and it shows your estimated monthly cost on each plan.
You provide:
- Your estimated monthly appointment volume
- The percentage of customers who pay by card (vs cash, bank transfer, or your own terminal)
- Your monthly SMS usage
The calculator shows:
- Total estimated cost on Business Pro, Business Flex, and Business Max
- A breakdown of each cost component: subscription fee, booking fees, Stripe processing fees, SMS charges, and any overage fees
- The appointment volume at which upgrading from one plan to another saves money (the break-even point)
- Whether your card payment volume would qualify you for a subscription waiver on each plan
All pricing data is pulled live, so the numbers always reflect current plan pricing.
Why break-even matters
One of the most useful outputs is the break-even analysis. It tells you: "At X appointments per month, Business Max costs less than Business Pro because the lower booking fee rate offsets the higher subscription."
This removes the guesswork from plan selection. Instead of estimating in your head, you see the exact crossover point based on your numbers.
Non-card payment comparison
If your business accepts a mix of card and non-card payments, the calculator highlights the difference between plans on non-card fees. Business Pro charges a per-appointment fee on cash, bank transfer, and external terminal payments. Business Flex charges $0. This comparison is particularly useful for businesses with their own payment terminal.
SMS cost modelling
The calculator factors in your SMS usage against each plan's monthly SMS allowance. If you send more than your plan includes, it shows the cost of additional SMS credit packs so you see the full picture.
