What should a daycare report card include?

Arrival and pick-up times, the playgroup, energy through the day, who they played with, meals, water, naps and toilet breaks, and anything the team noticed. That covers the questions owners ask at the door.

Why split energy into morning, midday and afternoon?

A pet that is full of beans all day and never rests is a different pet from one that plays hard and then naps. Three readings show the shape of the day, which one word at pick-up cannot.

What counts as worth a look on the toilet line?

Anything you would mention if it were your own dog: loose stools, straining, blood, or no toilet break all day. Write what you saw in the notes so the owner can tell their vet.

Should the report card go home on paper or by text?

Either works. Paper suits a pick-up at the counter. A text suits an owner who collects after hours or never comes in, because the card reaches them wherever they are. If you print it, keep a photo of the filled-in card on the pet record so the next team member can see it.

Daycare Report Card Template
